True North has provided the district with asbestos, lead and mold consulting services on a consistent basis for a decade. True North also helped with their asbestos management program and provided asbestos abatement planning and design, abatement oversight, three-year reinspection services, periodic surveillance and asbestos awareness training on an annual basis. As an integral environmental partner with the district, True North has become the “go-to” consultant for all environmental issues that arise.
True North assisted with the asbestos management of secure entrance projects at three schools within the district. The initial phase of work included inspecting each project area prior to construction to evaluate the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACM). Once identified, True North and the project architect provided input on the approach to ACM management. True North then prepared asbestos abatement project specifications, conducted a pre-bid conferences with prospective bidders, evaluated all bids and offered a final recommendation for award. The district then relied on True North to coordinate all abatement work activities with the selected contractor and provide oversight and final reporting of the asbestos abatement. With True North’s assistance, the district was able to mitigate risk associated with the presence of asbestos-containing materials in three construction areas on time and asbestos-free.
